Surface Drain Systems
Surface Drain Systems are a basic solid pipe system designed to carry away surface water, including downspout water, away from the house or yard.
Our Surface drain lines are installed starting a minimum of 10” below
grade and slope at a minimum of 1/8” per foot. 6” drain inlets
are installed at approximately 11’ on center. We use all PVC pipe
with glued fittings to insure that the pipes stay together and that the
water does not leak form the system into the ground or into a French Drain,
if one is installed with the Surface System. All fittings are sweep-type
fittings, similar to a sewer system to insure that any thing that falls
through the grates will continue out the exhaust. We then re-grade the area
adjacent to the foundation so that it will slope at ½” per
foot away from the foundation and into the new drains.
